You should have received a mailing with the a renewal form and the announcement of the Membership Meeting. If not, a copy of the mailing is located in the Docments section of the website. Just click on the link in the Main Menu to the left. The dues are $35.00 again this year. You may pay your dues by sending the completed form with your check to the address on the mailing. Thanks for being a member of the Association. This website was established and is maintained by the Polynesian Isles Homeowners Association (PIHOA). |
A large hole at the base of the boat ramp incline was created by boaters "gunning" their motor in order to recover their boat onto the trailer. If trailers were backed too far and the tires fell into the hole, they may become stuck.
Members of the PIHOA placed bags of cement to extend the ramp and fill the hole.
In the future, please be careful recovering your boat so that another hole is not created.
The Annual Polynesian Isles/Whisper Bay Neighborhood Garage Sale is scheduled for Saturday, May 19, from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
Remember, your trash may be someone's treasure. Clean out that garage and let your jewels go.
Keep the afternoon of Sunday, April 29, open for the PIHOA Spring Get Together at the spoil site from 3:00 PM until. Plans are coming together for this BYOE (Bring Your Own Everything) event. More information will be posted here and at your mailbox when the details are finalized. Let's have fun and meet someone new in this glorious weather.
DO NOT GIVE THE BOAT RAMP COMBO TO NON-MEMBERS
Further developments:
The gate to the boat ramp continues to be left open after use. It is thought that this is being done so that nom-members can use the ramp. For this reason, the combination to the gate will be changed more often. To avoid any inconvenience, it is best to check on the website before using the boatramp to make sure that the combination is not changed.
This email was received from one of our members.
Our President, Mike Andel, responded.Last week I went to take my boat out of the water. When I approached the gate to open the lock I noticed that the lock was locked, but was not locking the gate closed. Rather, there was a small stick through the hole where the lock normally goes. The stick was keeping the gates closed without locking the gate.
Yesterday I went to put the boat back in the water at the launch. When I arrived the gates were completely open. Neither the ramp nor the street had water on them which would suggest to me that someone had recently launched or recovered a boat and was intending to return to lock the gate. I assume that the gates had been open for some time.
In the first instance, I would assume that a member of the HoA had opened the gate for someone that was not a HoA member and that the non-member had put the stick in the gate intending to return later.
Thank you for your information and interest. I cannot count how many times I have locked the gate when I have driven by and seen it open. It is a shame that our fellow members do not realize they are paying dues and giving away their rights to those who do not. We are very fortunate to have this asset in our own backyard.
Our web site www.polyisleshoa.org has the complete rules for using the ramp and those who disrespect them just seem not to care.
I will have our webmaster to post another message on our web site not to disclose the new combo to non-members and if they are found to have broken the rules they will be removed from our membership and the combo will be changed and be a huge inconvenience to all the paying members who respect the rules.
